Illinois PTs must complete 3 hours of ethics every renewal period.

Course option: Components of Ethics for Physical Therapy Professionals

Sexual Harassment Prevention
Illinois PTs must complete 1 hour of sexual harassment prevention training every renewal period.

Course option: Preventing Sexual Harassment in the Workplace for Illinois Professionals, 2nd edition

Cultural Competency
Illinois PTs must complete 1 hour of cultural competency training every renewal period.

Course option: Cultural Competency and Healthcare

Implicit Bias Awareness
For renewals on or after January 1, 2023, Illinois PTs must complete at least 1 hour of implicit bias awareness training every renewal period. This hour counts toward the total CE requirement, and implicit bias training completed for another state licensure, accreditation, certification, or institutional requirement may count toward this hour.

Practice-Based or Conditional Requirements

Alzheimer's Disease and Other Dementias
Illinois PTs who work with clients age 26 or older must complete 1 hour of training on Alzheimer's disease and other dementias every renewal period.

Virtual attendance at live professional presentations, provided the participant is able to communicate in real time with the speaker and other participants are not subject to the home study / online limitations. Live, Interactive webinars from Elite are not subject to the limitations identified above. Up to 75% of total CE credit may be completed through correspondence or web-based courses, including pre-recorded presentations and webinars, from an approved CE sponsor. Virtual attendance at live professional presentations with real-time interaction is not subject to the home-study limitation, and live interactive webinars from Elite are not subject to this limitation either.
