Here's what you need to renew your Washington Physical Therapy license

The information below is a summary of the minimum requirements set forth by the Washington State Department of Health. For a more detailed requirements breakdown, please see the board's site.

Washington Physical Therapy: Physical Therapists (Continuing Education)

Total Hours Required: 32
Mandatory Hours: 2

Online Info

Mandatory Hours:

  • Health Equity - 2 hours
  • Suicide Assessment - 3 hours (one-time requirement)

 

Additional Renewal Requirements:

  • PTs must complete 200 employment hours involving the application of physical therapy knowledge and skills every 2 years.

 

Additional Requirements for Spinal Manipulation endorsement:

  • Every two years a physical therapist who holds a spinal manipulation endorsement shall complete at least 10 hours of continuing education directly related to spinal manipulation with at least five hours related to procedural techniques and application of spinal manipulation. 

Online Limitations

The CE hours and employment hours must have been obtained during the two years preceding renewal, from birthdate to birthdate.
