NEW! DEA MATE ACT:
Beginning with DEA initial registrations or renewals starting June 27, 2023, all DEA-registered practitioners (with the exception of DVM-only license holders) are required to complete 8 hours of one-time training on the treatment and management of patients with opioid or other substance use disorders.

Mandatory Subjects:
Two (2) AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ or equivalent every two years in the areas of:
 

  • Controlled substance prescribing practices,
  • Recognizing signs of the abuse or misuse of controlled substances, or
  • Controlled substance prescribing for chronic pain management.
  • Any program in these areas is acceptable to meet the CME credits required of all ACSC holders every two years. You do not need to obtain pre-approval of the courses you choose.

If you hold a valid DEA registration, at least two of the total hours of CME that are required to qualify for renewal must be specific to pain management and opioid use and addiction.
