NEW! DEA MATE ACT:
Beginning with DEA initial registrations or renewals starting June 27, 2023, all DEA-registered practitioners (with the exception of DVM-only license holders) are required to complete 8 hours of one-time training on the treatment and management of patients with opioid or other substance use disorders.
Mandatory Subjects:
Complete at least ONE of the following online suicide prevention trainings (these qualify for CE credit):
-Suicide Prevention (0.5 credit)
-Supporting Patients (0.5 credit)
-Collaborative Safety Planning (0.5 credit)
-CALM-Utah (Counseling on Access to Lethal Means) (1 credit)
DOs are required 40 hours of Category 1 ACCME-accredited courses every two years. All controlled substance prescribers must complete 4 hours in controlled substance prescribing every renewal, .5 of which must be completed through an online tutorial and test, as described by the Board in section 58-37f-402.* The remaining 3.5 hours may be completed through an AMA PRA Category 1 Credit course that meets Board requirements.**
