Practice-Based or Conditional Requirements

Controlled Substances Prescribing
Effective July 1, 2019, Wyoming practitioners authorized to prescribe controlled substances must complete 1 additional hour related to responsible prescribing of controlled substances or treatment of substance use disorders every 2 years, in addition to the base CE hour requirement.

Course option: Effective Management of Acute and Chronic Pain with Opioid Analgesics, 2nd Edition

DEA MATE Act Requirement
DEA-registered practitioners, except those who are solely veterinarians, must complete an 8-hour training on treating and managing patients with opioid or other substance use disorders. This applies one time to DEA registrations or renewals submitted on or after June 27, 2023.
