Before you can run, you must be able to walk. And before you dance across the stage, you must be able to stand in a safe manner. Many injuries sustained to the hips, knees and back, as well as the foot and ankle, can be prevented with proper alignment and form while working in a turned-out position or in releve/en pointe.
