Fulfill the mandatory requirements
Unfortunately, you can’t simply take 30 hours of random elective courses. The Board requires specific topics to ensure you are up to date on laws and professional conduct. Within your 30-hour total, you must include 4 mandatory hours.

- Jurisprudence Assessment Module (1.5 Credits): You must complete this specific assessment. It covers the laws governing physical therapy in New Jersey. You must take this through a sponsor listed on the State Board’s website.

Watch out for online limitations
This is the most common pitfall when trying to renew your New Jersey PT license. We all love the convenience of on-demand learning. However, New Jersey places a strict cap on how much of your education can be “home-study.”
Heads up! You’re allowed a maximum of 10 hours through home-study or online courses.
