Here's what you need to renew your California Respiratory Therapy license

California Respiratory Therapy: Respiratory Therapist (Continuing Education)

Online Info

Mandatory Subjects:

  • 3-hours of California Law and Ethics (every other renewal, the course shall be provided by the American Association for Respiratory Care or the California Society for Respiratory Care; Shall represent 3 units toward RCP Leadership)


Electives with Subject Limitations:

  • 15 hours directly related to clinical practice of respiratory care
  • 10 hours directly related to RCP Leadership
  • 5 hours remaining may be earned through any of the subjects already listed or through courses that are indirectly related to the clinical practice of respiratory care.


 

Online Limitations

A minimum of 15 of the total 30 required CE hours must be earned from live courses or meetings which include in-person AND online platforms where licensees can directly interact with the instructor in real time during the instructional period.
