Course Overview
The purpose of this course presentation is to discuss the background of anxiety disorders in order to evaluate the similarities and differences between the Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI) and the Generalized Anxiety Disorder 7 (GAD-7) as anxiety assessment tools with respect to selecting which is most appropriate to use. 

Learning Outcomes 
Upon the completion of this course, the learner should be able to:

  • Discuss the background of anxiety disorders.
  • Examine the features of the Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI) and the Generalized Anxiety Disorder 7 (GAD-7).
  • Review the validity and reliability of BAI and GAD-7.
  • Evaluate the similarities and differences between the Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI) and the Generalized Anxiety Disorder 7 (GAD-7).
  • Discuss case studies focused on BAI and GAD-7 use.

About the Author/Presenter 
Abimbola Farinde, PharmD is a clinical pharmacist specialist and college-level educator. She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree at Texas Southern University and has gained a wealth of knowledge and training, with the completion of residency training programs and years of practicing. Dr. Farinde’s areas of expertise are in mental health, substance abuse, and psychology. She is interested in sharing her knowledge with other professionals engaged in clinical practice.
