Here's what you need to renew your New York Behavioral Health : Social Worker license

Mandatory Subjects:

  • 3 hours - Appropriate Professional Boundaries (for registration periods starting on or after April 1, 2023)
  • 2 hours - Identification and Reporting of Child Abuse and Maltreatment (one-time requirement - NEW! mandated reporters, including those who have previously undergone the current training, must complete the updated training curriculum by April 1, 2025)**

 

**New York Child Abuse courses do not count towards CE hours and may only be used to satisfy the New York mandatory training requirements.

Online Limitations

No more than 12 hours of continuing education activities in any 36 month period, or one-third of the total hours in periods of other length, may consist of self-study educational activities from New York State Education Department approved providers.
