Five Musts for your Holiday Marketing Campaign

Will you believe us if we tell you there are less than 12 weeks until Christmas?! Now is the time to start planning your holiday marketing campaigns. If you haven’t done much marketing for the holiday season before, now is a great time. A holiday marketing campaign is a perfect opportunity for you to promote your business and market your services and products. Whether you choose to go a “12 days of Christmas” route or using your favorite holiday song—read these five musts for a successful holiday campaign.

1. Choose a source

Email marketing is one of the easiest and cheapest routes to use for holiday advertising. Social media is another way to promote a special during the holidays because it’s easy for clients to share and for you to self-promote. Snail mail is still around, and nothing beats a good ole’ fashion letter.

2. Make it Memorable

The last thing your client wants is a generalized, impersonalized, and cheesy holiday email coming their way. Take your time, and carefully chose the color scheme, message, and delivery route you want to use. Bonus tip: Pick a catchy subject line for your emails to ensure your clients open them.

3. Send a meaningful message

Your holiday marketing campaign is a perfect time for you to show your clients some appreciation. What do you want your clients to walk away knowing? Is it that you’re having 20% off all services in December? Or that their favorite product is BOGO? Make sure that whatever you choose to promote is the primary focus of your campaign.

4. Make it fun

Think of a promotion that uses a way of connecting clients. Consider using social media to promote an ad that involves your clients “sharing or re-posting” and the one that shares the most wins a free service. The more your clients participate in the campaign, the more views it will get and the more they will be interested.

5. Be Grateful

One of the best ways to show your holiday spirit and thanks is sending a “thank you” card to your clients for helping make the year memorable. Mail out personalized, physical cards the week before Christmas that includes a 10% off coupon to use on a product or service during their next visit.

So, get started—the holidays will be here before you know it! Make sure you put a lot of thought and a little bit of effort into how you want your salon/spa to approach the holidays and to create a successful marketing plan.
