Care Communications Inc., a national healthcare data integrity and quality consulting and outsourcing firm, recently announced the name change of its Cancer Registry Services business unit to Oncology Data Services.
Care Communications’ Oncology Data Services business unit has grown dramatically. Since 2012, the unit’s sales volume has doubled. The rapid growth is due to a commitment to data quality, a customer centric collaborative approach and very selective hiring standards creating a team of highly experienced certified registrars.
“The new name better reflects the comprehensiveness and value of the services we provide,” said Laurie Hebert, vice president and general manager, Oncology Data Services. “Our services are provided by professionals that have extensive experience in the oncology data field and who can provide hands on data abstraction, management and consulting level services. This provides great value to the health care organization. Hospitals, cancer centers and reporting agencies are increasingly turning to the analysis of oncology data to improve outcomes, quality of care and business intelligence.”
Hebert joined CARE in 2007 and under her leadership the Oncology Data Services program has become one of the leading programs nationally. She previously served on the board of directors for the National Cancer Registrars Association (NCRA), the nation’s leading association for cancer registry professionals. She remains an active NCRA member appointed to and currently serving on various committees. She is also an American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer (ACS CoC) trained consultant. She has authored or co-authored numerous articles and white papers noted in nationally recognized trade publications and given educational presentations related to the cancer registry profession.
